Qualifications
To be eligible for consideration as a high school student, you must meet all of the following criteria:
- have the equivalent of a GPA of 3.50 on a 4.00 scale
- Effective December 1, 2012: PPC applicants must score a minimum of 25 on the MCAT (with a minimum score of 7 in each section)
- be predicted to graduate in the top 10% of your class
- achieve a minimum 1200 SAT(critical reading plus math) or 26 ACT
- have a legal residence in a rural or underserved area, or health profession shortage area as defined by the Health Professions Resource Center Texas Department of Health
- be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident, be a resident of the state of Texas
- commit to attend one of our partner universities:
- Prairie View A&M University
- South Texas College - McAllen
- Tarleton State University - Stephenville
- Texas A&M International University - Laredo
- Texas A&M University - College Station
- Texas A&M University - Commerce
- Texas A&M University - Corpus Christi
- Texas A&M University - Kingsville
- West Texas A&M University - Canyon

- be enrolled as a college freshman in one of our partner universities:

- Tarleton State University - Stephenville
- Texas A&M International University - Laredo
- Texas A&M University - College Station
- Texas A&M University - Commerce
- Texas A&M University - Corpus Christi
- Texas A&M University - Kingsville
- West Texas A&M University - Canyon
- have maintained a 3.50 GPA or equivalent through the end of high school and a 3.25 throughout the end of the freshman year of college
