The Faculty Advisory Committee (FAC) reviews recommendations relating to the origination, modification or deletion of policies of the College of Medicine. It is responsible for:

• Reviewing the Dean's annual plan for the College.
• Periodically evaluating the governance mechanisms of the College and rendering periodic reports to the Dean on the effectiveness of these processes.
• Drafting of appropriate changes in the bylaws for approval by the Academic Council.
• Forwarding to the Dean proposed agenda items for meetings of the General Faculty.
• Serving as a forum for the arbitration of faculty disputes relating to personnel management.
• Carrying out such tasks as may be assigned to the Committee by the College Academic Council and HSC Faculty Senate.
• Distribution to the individual departments of the agenda and minutes of Academic Council meetings.

Members of the FAC shall also serve as members of the Faculty Grievance Committee (FGC) for the College of Medicine.  For more information, see the COM Bylaws.
