Dr. Leslie had a Humanities in Medicine faculty appointment from 1990 - 2004. He has taught classes in spirituality and healing in medicine, in addition to American religious movements and their teachings on medicine and healing. Each Fall and Spring he offered elective courses on special topics, such as “How Popular Films Depict Physicians and their Work” and “How to Survive without Damaging Other Persons.”
Dr. Leslie serves on various community organizations. His special personal interests include being a solo and chamber music recitalist, and playing the bagpipes. In retirement he enjoys traveling with his wife Candace.
Education
Dr. Leslie holds a Ph.D. from McGill University. Other degrees are from Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary (B.D.), Florida State University (B.Music) and Lyon College (D.D.). He is a yearly participant in the Harvard Medical School conferences on spirituality and healing in medicine.
