Second Year of Medical School

Distinguished faculty members from other colleges in the University serve as mentors to second-year medical students. In this elective course, the students may select one of the approved mentors and develop a special relationship. Mentors are chosen on the basis of leadership, service and commitment to students. They volunteer to share their experience, expertise and time.

Each mentorship is individually designed by the participants and provides an opportunity for the student to deal with issues beyond technical competence, broaden his/her perspective through exposure to leaders in other disciplines and view medicine in relationship to other fields of study.
