College of Medicine Campuses

The Texas A&M Health Science Center College of Medicine utilizes approximately 1300 basic and clinical science faculty in instructional programs in Bryan-College Station, Temple, Round Rock, Houston, and Corpus Christi.

Medical students are offered a wide range of clinical experiences at one of the regional campuses. The variety of clinical experiences enables each student to identify his or her career focus or specialty area in medicine. In these various settings, the clinical training program extends into hospitals, managed care organizations, private clinics and other outpatient settings.

The faculty members of the College of Medicine believe that the four years leading to the M.D. degree are only the beginning of a life-long process of medical education. They strive to provide students with the necessary background to pursue any field of specialization they may subsequently choose.

Medical education involves much more than the transfer of scientific information and techniques of patient care. A physician must cultivate a thoughtful moral and ethical outlook. Faculty members expect students to have high ethical standards, and they stand ready to lend assistance through whatever periods of personal uncertainty students may encounter. College of Medicine students can expect to associate closely with faculty members in all phases of the curriculum because the college maintains a small class size and a favorable faculty-to-student ratio.
