Summary of Research Interests
Our research interest is the development of vaccine against the cancer by the fusion of receptors with heat shock proteins (HSP) using Baculovirus Expression Vector Systems (BEVS) technology. Our long-term goal is to determine the efficacy of the HSP chimeras with fusion of receptors in an animal model and to elucidate the mechanism by which the HSP-based vaccination enhances anti-tumor immunity, which ultimately inhibits tumor growth. By this technology, we would capitalize on the strategy of harnessing the low cost effective therapy in the cure of cancer.
In turn, we would make it feasible to augment the potency of current thermal therapy protocols and HSP-based therapies for a variety of human diseases including cancers, neuro-degeneration, cardiovascular disease, autoimmunity and aging. Finally, it is expected that these results will fundamentally advance the field of HSP-based immunobiology.
