Shahrum Lillard
Chemistry student at Baylor University
As I really began to understand the purpose of Investigative Pathology, and actually performed the duties, I started to value my time working with cancer cells. I feel part of the group, all trying to find a cure for this disease. I am greatly interested in helping any way I can to rid the world of cancer, and what better way to do so than with working with Dr. Asea in Investigative Pathology?

I wanted to volunteer in this department because I have always been interested in the field of pathology. Also, I wanted to get hands-on experience with the types of research I will be conducting later in my career.

I volunteer in the Investigative Pathology Department because I feel that this research experience prepares me for the future study in the biomedical fields. I also enjoy helping out with the other ongoing experiments and just being in contact with the important work being done. I have grown a lot from my exposure to these fields.
