2008
January
Happy New Year! I hope everyone had a wonderful and relaxing break. I also hope you enjoyed your time with family and friends. I certainly enjoyed my time with my wife and daughters in North Carolina.
February
These are exciting times for the College of Medicine as we continue to expand.
March
Thank you to all who participated in the Chancellor’s Century Council visit on February 21! I appreciate your efforts and I thank you for covering for me as I was out of town.
April
I trust everyone had a great Spring Break! We are entering our final stretch of the academic year – it just doesn’t seem possible.
May
I hope everyone is doing well as we wind down the semester. It doesn’t seem possible that another year is almost complete.
June
Our annual alumni weekend is scheduled for August 1-2, 2008. This year we are celebrating the 25th reunion of the Class of ’83 as well as the reunion for the classes of ’88, ’93, ’98 and 2003. The weekend will feature a wide range of activities.
July
I trust you all are having a great summer! It’s only a couple of weeks before the students arrive again, and we begin another academic year.
August
Welcome to our new and returning students! We hope you all had a great summer and are ready to start another year. It seems like we just had Commencement, and now we are already starting classes again. Amazing!
September
It never ceases to amaze me how fast time flies. Our first and second-year students have been back on campus for over a month now!
October
It's hard to believe we are almost halfway through with another semester! There's a lot going on around the college as usual, but here are a few highlights I wanted to mention...
November
It’s finally starting to feel like fall around here with the cooler temperatures!
December
November was a busy month with many celebrations and new beginnings. Our primary clinical partner, Scott & White, celebrated 80 years of graduate medical education this month. The Health Science Center hosted a Flag Raising Ceremony on November 5 for the new campus in Bryan. We co-hosted an Open House November 13 at the Institute for Regenerative Medicine in Temple with our colleagues at Scott & White. And finally, the Health Science Center held a Campus Dedication Ceremony for the new campus in Round Rock on November 20.
