COM, HSC Host Annual TAAHP Conference
COLLEGE STATION, Texas (February 5, 2009) -- The annual state conference of the Texas Association of Advisors for the Health Professions (TAAHP), hosted by the Texas A&M Health Science Center and the Texas A&M HSC College of Medicine, will convene in College Station at the Hilton Conference Center Thursday through Saturday, February 5-7.
Organizers say this conference draws more than 200 pre-health advisors from higher education institutions around Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico and Louisiana. There will also be deans of admissions of health professions schools in attendance.
Dr. Anne Blum, director of the Office of Professional and Graduate School Advising at Texas A&M, has been elected chair of this state organization and will preside over the conference.
TAAHP is a state network of health professions advisors and staff of health professions schools working to promote excellence in pre-health professions advising. The purposes of TAAHP are to advance undergraduate education for all the health professions, to further the development of health science curricula, to facilitate the exchange and dissemination of information, and to conduct educational meetings.
