First Annual Dean’s Golf Tournament a “Hole-in-One”

Skip breadcrumb navigation COLLEGE STATION, Texas (May 16, 2005) - The First Annual Dean’s Golf Tournament, “Shootout in the Brazos Valley”, took place Saturday, May 14 at the Texas A&M University golf course. Seventeen faculty members and 14 students played in the event, which kicked off at 8 a.m. with a shotgun start. The tournament format was a multi-flight scramble, with teams made up of students and faculty members.

The results of the tournament are as follows:

The event was followed by lunch and an awards ceremony. The top three teams in each flight won prizes, as well as the last place team in the tournament, who received “Dead A** Last” trophies. In addition, awards were given for longest drive, longest putt and closest to the pin. Chris Hudak won the longest drive award, while Jonathan Henderson received recognition for the longest putt. Mary Elizabeth Herring picked up the award for closest to the pin.

The “Shootout in the Brazos Valley” was a great event, and gave the faculty and students a chance to get to know each other better in a fun atmosphere. Thanks to all who participated and we hope to have even more players next year!
