Health Circus Returns to Navasota

Skip breadcrumb navigation COLLEGE STATION, Texas (April 20, 2005) - The circus is back! Health Circus returns to Navasota Saturday, April 23 from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. In addition to getting the local kids up to date on their immunizations and performing healthy child screenings, adults can get their blood pressure and glucose levels checked out. In addition, several services will have booths set up with information from Stop Teenage Addiction to Tobacco (STAT), Texas Health Steps, the Rape Crisis Center and several others. And of course there are always games and popcorn for the kids.

The event will take place at the new Navasota Center at 103 Stadium Drive. To get to the Navasota Center from College Station:
  • Take Hwy 6 South (toward Houston).
  • Go approximately 20 miles and exit Business 6 in Navasota. Business 6 becomes La Salle St. once in town.
  • Stay straight on La Salle until you see a Family Dollar on the left and a Brookshire's on the right.
  • Make a left on Brule Street, just past the Brookshire's. If you get to the first stop light in town (Washington) then you've passed it by one block.
  • Just follow Brule St. as it curves around and you will see the Navasota Center on your right.

Founded in the spring of 2002 by College of Medicine students, Health Circus events have reached hundreds of families across the Brazos Valley over the last three years. Designed to educate local citizens about the importance of child immunizations, regular health and dental checkups, good nutrition and medical insurance, Health Circus has hosted events in Buffalo, College Station, Caldwell, Hearne, Madisonville and Navasota.
