12th Annual Student Research Symposium Slated for April 10

Skip breadcrumb navigation COLLEGE STATION, Texas (April 6, 2007) – The College of Medicine Graduate Student Organization (GSO) is pleased to present the 12th Annual Student Research Symposium to be held Tuesday, April 10 at Reynolds Medical Building. The purpose of this symposium is to showcase the research of young investigators at our college.

This year’s event will feature oral and poster presentations from students and postdocs as well as a keynote presentation by Dr. Sangram S. Sisodia, the Thomas Reynolds Sr. Family Professor of Neurosciences and Director of the Center for Molecular Neurobiology at The University of Chicago. Dr. Sisodia’s research is focused on familial Alzheimer’s disease and he has received several awards in recognition of his excellence in the field, including American Academy of Neurology’s Potamkin Prize for Alzheimer's Disease Research.

The symposium will also feature a vendor show taking place in the lobby and a catered lunch by Epicures immediately following the keynote presentation. Please make plans to attend and support the young investigators of our institution. A schedule of events is provided below. 11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
Keynote Presentation (Lecture Hall 1)
“Molecular neurobiology of Alzheimer's disease” by Sangram S. Sisodia, Ph.D., the Thomas Reynolds Sr. Family Professor of Neurosciences and Director for the Center for Molecular Neurobiology in the Department of Neurobiology at The University of Chicago.
