Easley Tapped for Interim Pediatrics Post

TEMPLE, Texas (June 6, 2008) – Pediatric gastroenterologist David J. Easley, M.D. has been appointed Interim Chairman of the Department of Pediatrics at Scott & White and the Texas A&M Health Science Center College of Medicine.

A faculty member since July 1995, Dr. Easley is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics, the Director of the Division of Pediatrics Subspecialists and the Chief of the Pediatric Gastroenterology Section. He is certified by the American Board of Pediatrics in pediatric advanced life support and pediatric gastroenterology.

Dr. Easley received a bachelor’s degree from Baylor University in Waco, Texas in 1985, followed by an M.D. degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio in 1989. He completed his pediatric residency at Scott & White from 1989 to 1992, as well as a fellowship in pediatric gastroenterology and nutrition at the University of Colorado Health Science Center and the Children’s Hospital in Denver from 1992 to 1995.

A National Merit Scholar at Baylor, Dr. Easley received honors in both pediatrics and psychiatry during his clinical rotations at UTHSCSA, and served as chief resident at Scott & White.
