The National Youth Leadership Forum on Medicine (NYLF-Med) provides opportunities for the nation’s highest achieving high school students to gain real-world medical career experience and explore professional career opportunities in the expanding fields of medicine and health care. This valuable career exploration takes place in 13 cities across the United States each summer. These cities are chosen specifically for their world-class medical universities, hospital, facilities and research centers.

The NYLF-Med introduces outstanding high school students to the world of medicine. This 10-day summer program introduces students to professionals from some of the nation’s top medical centers and faculty from renowned institutions of learning.

Each year, the Texas A&M College of Medicine's Office of Admissions is one of the host sites for the NYLF-Med Houston/Galveston site.

The College of Medicine offers need-based scholarships to high school students from Bryan and College Station high schools to attend NYLF-Med in Houston/Galveston.
