Family Medicine

Alaina Edmunds, MD
Clerkship Director

Dr. Edmunds completed her undergraduate degree at Trinity University in San Antonio in 2007 and her medical degree at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas in June 2011. She completed her training at Baylor Garland Family Medicine Residency in Garland, Texas, and served as chief resident during her final year. Shortly after her graduation she joined the faculty of the Baylor Family Medicine Residency Program and assumed the clerkship director role. She is certified with the American Board of Family Medicine, as well as a member of the AMA, AAFP, and STFM.

Internal Medicine

Uyen-Thi Cao, MD
Co-Director

Dr. Cao received her undergraduate degree from Baylor University in Waco, Texas, and her medical degree from UTHSC in San Antonio.  She completed her internal medicine residency at UT Houston, where she served as chief medical resident in 2004. She is on the faculty at Baylor University Medical Center as well as an assistant professor for the Texas A&M College of Medicine. She is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and is a hospitalist with Texas Primary Care.

William J. Christensen, MD
Co-Director

Dr. Christensen received his undergraduate degree from Texas A&M University and his medical degree from UTMB in Galveston, Texas, in 1989. He completed his residency in 1992 at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas. He is currently practicing with Medprovider and is an attending at Baylor University Medical Center. In addition to being a Clerkship Co-Director for A&M students in internal medicine, he is also actively involved in the teaching and mentoring of medicine residents at Baylor Medical Center. Christensen is a fellow of the American College of Internal Medicine.

OB-GYN

Adrianne Browning, MD
Clerkship Director

Dr. Browning received her undergraduate degree from Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas, and her medical degree from The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas. She completed her residency in 2010 at Baylor University Medical Center in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Browning is currently a Hospitalist with Baylor University Medical Center and serves as a Key Clinical Faculty in the Obstetrics Gynecology Residency Program. Browning is a member of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Texas Medical Association.

Pediatrics

Myron Rosen, MD
Clerkship Director

Dr. Rosen completed his undergraduate degree at The University of Texas at Austin in 1989, and his medical degree at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas. He completed his pediatrics residency training at Children’s Medical Center in Dallas. He has been practicing private pediatrics at Pediatric and Adolescent Associates of Garland since 1996. He has served on several committees in HealthTexas, including the Best Care/Quality Improvement executive committee. He was department chairman of pediatrics at Baylor Garland from 2005 to 2012. Rosen is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics.

Psychiatry

Sid Kelt, MD
Clerkship Director

Dr. Kelt received his medical degree from The University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska, in 1983. He completed his residency at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, Department of Psychiatry, in Dallas, where he became chief resident. Kelt is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. He currently practices with Thorntree Psychiatric Associates, is on the medical staff at Timberlawn Hospital and serves as the adolescent medical director at Timberlawn Hospital.

Surgery

Geoffrey Funk, MD
Clerkship Director

Dr. Funk received his undergraduate degrees from Texas A&M University, his medical degree from the Texas A&M College of Medicine, and completed his residency training in general surgery at Baylor University Medical Center. He completed a surgical critical care fellowship training program in 2010 at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas. Funk is board certified by the American Board of Surgery, currently practices with Urgent Surgery Associates, PA and is on the medical staff at Baylor University Medical Center where he serves as a Key Clinical Faculty in the General Surgery Residency Program.
