  • Baylor Scott & White

    Scott and White Medical Center is licensed for over 600 beds and serves as a major academic and teaching hospital within the Baylor Scott & White Healthcare system. In October 2013, the hospital, as part of the Scott & White Healthcare system, merged with Baylor Health Care System to form Baylor Scott & White Health, the largest not-for-profit health care system in the state of Texas. Scott & White Medical Center has been synonymous with excellence in diagnosis, care and treatment for more than 100 years. In addition to exceptional medical and surgical subspecialty teams, Scott & White Medical Center features the only Level 1 Trauma Center between Dallas and Austin, a new Bone and Joint Institute, advanced imaging facilities, and organ transplant services (heart, lung, kidney and pancreas). Its educational environment is enhanced by a state-of-the-art simulation center, the Baylor Scott & White McLane Children’s Medical Center, 35 ACGME (Accreditation Council of Graduate Medical Education) accredited residency and fellowship programs, many non-ACGME physician and clinical doctorate programs, and approximately 1,000 senior staff physicians. The Scott & White Medical Center graduate medical education programs train over 490 residents and fellows each year.

    • From Interstate 35, take exit number 299 and go east on Loop
    • From Loop 363, take the 31st Street Turn left onto 31stStreet.
    • Turn right at the “Emergency” sign onto S&W South
    • Turn left onto S&W Emergency
    • Parking Lots will be on right.

    From Bryan/College Station via TX-36/US-190W

    • From TX-36 N/US-190 W - Take the exit toward 31st St/5th St.
    • Turn right onto S 31st St.
    • Turn right at the “Emergency” sign onto S&W South
    • Turn left onto S&W Emergency
    • Parking Lots will be on right.

     

  • Central Texas Veterans Health Care System

    CTVHCS is comprised of Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) medical centers located in Temple and Waco, an outpatient clinic in Austin, as well as four community-based outpatient clinics. The system is one of the largest VA integrated health care systems and provides a full range of medical, surgical, psychiatric and rehabilitation services with inpatient medical/surgical hospital beds, a hospice unit and a community living center. Located on its Waco campus, CTVHCS has substantial inpatient psychiatric facilities and one of the few Blind Rehabilitation Centers in Veterans Affairs. CTVHCS conducts PTSD and traumatic brain injury (TBI) research for veterans through the VISN 17 Center of Excellence for Research on Returning War Veterans in Waco. Residents and fellows from Scott & White often receive training at CTVHCS.

    Driving Directions (From South):

    From Interstate 35 take Loop 363 Exit (Exit 298), go east (right) on Loop 363. Follow Loop 363 approximately 3 miles. Take the 5th Street Exit (right) until you come to the stop sign at 5th Street. Take a left (north) on 5th Street about 5 blocks. Turn right on Avenue U. Avenue U will take you 1 block straight to the Olin E. Teague Veterans' Medical Center.

    Driving Directions (From North):

    From Interstate 35 take the Central Avenue/Texas 53/FM2305 Exit (Exit 301); take a left at the red light/East on Central Avenue. Take a right on Third Street in Downtown Temple. 3rd Street will turn into 1st Street just after you cross the downtown overpass. Continue on 1st Street approximately 1 mile. The Olin E. Teague Veterans' Medical Center will be on your left.
