A note from the Director, Gianfranco D. Alpini, PhD

The major goal and objective of the Digestive Disease Research Center (DDRC) is to discover novel ideas and research findings regarding the digestive system and the liver diseases that affect millions in the United States. The DDRC team is formed by both basic scientists and clinician scientists who have a wide variety of research interests, training and project goals. By working together we strive to bring "bench to bedside" research to life to support and potentially prolong the lives of patients suffering from digestive disease disorders and liver diseases. Besides being comprised of experienced investigators, the DDRC is very committed to the training of future scientists and provides an excellent learning environment for the training of undergraduates, medical students, graduate students, postdoctoral fellows and residents.
