Acting Internship

In order for your rotation to qualify for an Acting Internship (AI) the experience must meet the following curricular requirements (pre-approved COM AI's can be found by looking for the AI in the course number):

  1. Be in Family Medicine, General Internal Medicine, General Pediatrics, Med/Peds, OB-GYN or General Surgery
  2. Contain an inpatient component
  3. Provide the student with primary care responsibility for a panel of his/her own patients and direct supervision by senior staff faculty

Intensive Critical Care Unit (ICU) Rotation

  • Internal Medicine
  • Pediatrics
  • Surgery

Remember: Acting Internships and ICU rotations must be completed as separate experiences, but may be done at an off-campus site that is LCME approved or an ACGME accredited residency program site.
