Biography

Jerry Livingston, PhD, RN is the Director of Clinical Skills at the Texas A&M College of Medicine. Dr. Livingston received his undergraduate degree from Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, Texas, a master’s degree in nursing education from The University of Texas at Tyler, and a doctorate in medical education from Capella University. Dr. Livingston started his educational career teaching Acute Cardiac Life Support in the late 1990’s and joined nursing education at Mesa State University in Grand Junction, Colorado, in 2004. He and his family moved to the College Station area in 2009 where he taught pharmacology and directed all simulation activities for the Texas A&M College of Nursing. He joined the College of Medicine in 2014. In addition to his role in Academic Affairs, Dr. Livingston developed the Practice of Medicine courses along with Dr. Patricia Watson and a team from the Clinical Learning Resource Center. He co-directs PoM1 and PoM2 and is a member of numerous committees, including the Academic and Clinical Success Committee where his primary role is to provide support to struggling students as they progress through the clinical skills curriculum in preparation for the USMLE Step 2 Clinical Skills exam.
