The Help Our Students Travel (HOST) program has been established by the Texas A&M College of Medicine Alumni Association to match traveling fourth-year students with College of Medicine alumni throughout the country during residency interviews. The residency interview season lasts from October through January. Medical students generally take 10 to 15 interview trips during this four month period which places another financial burden on them in addition to medical school debt.

Alumni volunteers provide students with a place to stay during the interview process, transportation to and from the airport, dinner, advice about the community they are visiting and if possible, the prospective medical center in which they are interviewing. The level of involvement is totally up to the alumni host. It is a great way for alumni to reconnect to the College of Medicine and also see first-hand the next generation of Aggie Docs.

If you are an M4 or an alumnus who would like to connect with a fellow Aggie Doc, complete the application form below and we’ll be in touch with information about your match.

  • If you are interested in participating in the HOST program, fill out the on-line Student Registration Form with details of your residency interviews. Submit one form for each interview date/city.
  • A staff member will begin looking for an alumnus in the requested area and get back to you with more details.
  • Also, read the FAQs for Students about the program.
