• Helen S. Anderson Medical Student Award

    This endowed fund shall annually award $2,000 to the most outstanding 4th year medical student at the end of each class year.

  • Nelson and Micki Avery Scholarship

    This fund shall award two medical students $1,000 each who have: (1) completed their 3rd year of medical school at the Round Rock campus (2) demonstrated a high level of community service or leadership qualities and (3) ranked at the top of their class based on clinical grades for the third year.

  • Max Don Barnett Senior Resident IT Award

    Donated by James L. Holly, M.D., this endowed fund shall annually award a $500 scholarship to a third-year resident attending an electronic medical records conference.

  • Birdwell Endowed Scholarship

    This endowed fund shall award one or more scholarships of at least $1,000 to first year medical students with preference to those with financial need. This scholarship will be awarded for four years. The student must be a U.S. citizen.

  • S.H. Black Endowment of the Antony van Leuwenhoek Award for Excellence in Microbiology

    For a worthy and deserving graduating senior enrolled in the College of Medicine, who is chosen by a vote of the faculty in the department. This award will supplement the original Antony van Leeuwenhoek Award for Excellence, with a cash award of at least $500.

  • Black – Zandveld Lectureship in the History of Medicine

    This endowed lectureship funds lectures of open forum, which if possible, can be incorporated into the curriculum of the Humanities in Medicine program. Though selection of lectures will be at the discretion of the head of the Department of Humanities in Medicine, the donor wishes to be involved with the lectureship series in an advisory capacity.

  • Ralph and Louis Bricker Memorial Endowed Fund

    The income from this endowed fund in the amount of $110,000 shall be used to further research and assistance in the disease of cancer as directed by the Dean of the College of Medicine.

  • G.V. Brindley JR. M.D. Endowed Scholarship

    The income from this endowed fund shall be used to support University based research at the Scott and White institutions.

  • Byrd Family/Rapport Society Endowed Scholarship

    The income from this endowed fund shall be used to provide financial assistance to medical students.

  • Timothy N. Bryan Endowed Scholarship

    This endowed fund shall annually award a scholarship of at least $1,000 to a medical student enrolled at the Bryan/College Station campus and preferably a student from Bryan/College Station in need of financial assistance. If there is not an eligible student from Bryan/College Station then the scholarship is to be awarded to any need based student enrolled at the Bryan/College Station Campus.

  • The Wofford Cain Centennial Chair in Clinical Pathology

    Created through the partnership with The Cain Foundation and the Scott & White Health System, this endowed fund shall be used to establish the Wofford Cain Centennial Chair in Clinical Pathology at Texas A&M Health Science Center.

    The income from this endowed fund shall be used to provide financial assistance to medical students.

  • George C.Y. Chiou Endowed Lectureship in Pharmacology

    This endowed lectureship funds a lectureship series in Pharmacology.

  • Craig Clanton ’82 Endowed Memorial Scholarship Fund

    This fund shall be established to provide scholarship to medical students at the College of Medicine with a preference for students who are the natural, adopted or step-child of a career Texas teacher.

  • Class of 1981/Rapport Society Endowed Scholarship

    The income from this endowed fund shall be used to provide financial assistance to medical students.

  • Christopher C. Colenda, Jr. Memorial Endowed Scholarship

    This endowed fund, given in memory of former dean Chris Colenda’s father, shall annually provide one scholarship to a student with strong academics and evidence of advocacy for the elderly or the under-served.

  • J. Collerain Endowed Academic Excellence in Medicine

    The income from this endowed fund shall be used at the discretion of the Dean to encourage academic excellence.

  • Joseph B. Collerain Endowed Scholarship

    This endowed fund shall annually award one or more scholarships of at least $1,000 to worthy and deserving students enrolled at the College of Medicine.

  • Dr. Sidney Conolly ’39 MED Endowed

    This endowed fund shall annually award one scholarships of $2,000 to a student who has shown leadership and a passion for medicine.

  • Dr. and Mrs. O.C. Cooper Memorial Scholarship Fund

    This endowed fund shall annually award one or more scholarships of at least $1,000 to worthy and deserving students enrolled at the College of Medicine at College Station. Student should have interest in family medicine.

  • Charles Davidson Scholarship Fund

    This endowed fund shall annually award one scholarships of at least $1,000 to a Texas resident who plans to return to Texas to practice medicine. Preference will be given to a student who demonstrates financial need.

    To be used by the Department of Pathology – discretionary funds.

  • Scott A. Exter ’81 Memorial Endowment Scholarship

    The income from this endowed fund in the amount of $30,000 shall be used for basic bench research in inflammatory bowel disease as directed by the Dean of the College of Medicine.

  • Bernard F. Fallon Memorial Scholarship

    This fund shall provide one or more scholarships of at least $1,000 for students in good academic standing at the College of Medicine.

  • Elena Franklin/Class of 1981 Endowed Scholarship Fund

    This endowed fund shall annually award one or more scholarships of at least $1,000 to worthy and deserving students enrolled at the College of Medicine.

  • Malcolm and Nell Hart Endowed Scholarship

    This endowed fund shall provide one or more scholarships of at least $1,000 to worthy and deserving students enrolled at the College of Medicine.

  • Alfred Herbelin Memorial Scholarship

    This endowed fund shall provide a stipend of at least $5,000 to a student in good academic standing selected by the Dean. Preference shall be given to a student who demonstrates financial need and an interest in family medicine.

  • Albert and Ethel Herzstein Charitable Foundation Scholarship

    Donated by the Albert and Ethel Herzstein Charitable Foundation for AY 2012-13, this fund shall award three worthy and deserving students medical students at $3,250 each.

  • Barbara & William Huffman Endowed Fund

    The income from this endowed fund in the amount of $100,000 shall be used to support the mission of the College of Medicine at the discretion of the Dean of the College.

  • Kelly Gilbert Hughes ’81 Scholarship

    This fund shall annually award one or more scholarships to worthy and deserving students enrolled at the College of Medicine.

  • Mavis P. Kelsey Lecture Fund

    This endowed lectureship funds a lectureship series in Humanities.

  • Alan & Amanda Leifeste/Rapport Society Endowed Scholarship

    The income from this endowed fund shall be used to provide financial assistance to medical students.

  • James A. and Sally T. Knight Endowed Scholarship Fund

    The income from this fund is to be used for Leadership in Medicine preceptorship or fellowships to students for their preceptorship or internships in leadership, predominately but not exclusively in the senior year. If this is not needed, it may be used for scholarships awarded on the basis of financial need.

  • Verlin and Howard Kruse ’52 Scholarship in Rural Medicine

    This endowed fund shall annually provide one or more scholarships of at least $1,000 to worthy and deserving students enrolled at the College of Medicine who show an interest in pursuing medicine in rural environments.

    This endowed fund shall annually award one or more scholarships of at least $1,000 to worthy and deserving students in good academic standing enrolled at the College of Medicine.

    This endowed fund shall annually award one or more scholarships of at least $1,000 to worthy and deserving students in good academic standing enrolled at the College of Medicine.

  • Earl Lipscomb Leadership in Medicine

    The income from this endowed fund shall be used at the discretion of the Dean to encourage leadership in medicine.

  • Earl W. and Mercedes F. Lipscomb Memorial College of Medicine Endowed Fund

    The income from this endowed fund in the amount of $330,000 shall be used to support the mission of the College of Medicine at the discretion of the Dean of the College.

  • R.D. “Jim” Little ’34 Endowed Scholarship Fund

    This endowed fund shall annually provide one or more scholarships of at least $1,000 to worthy and deserving students enrolled at the College of Medicine. Special consideration will be given to applicants who demonstrate financial need and are from Wharton County and surrounding area. Recipient shall be enrolled freshman and receive the scholarship for the duration of their study provided they remain in good academic standing.

  • Thomas W. Lyles, M.D. ’49 Endowed Medical Scholarship

    This endowed fund shall provide one or more scholarships of at least $500 to worthy and deserving students enrolled at the College of Medicine. Preference will be given to graduates of Texas A&M University in College Station, TX and those medical students from Tyler and Smith County, Texas area.

  • Magnolia Tea Scholarship

    A $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to a student based on an essay. The topic and decision of the winner is decided by the College of Medicine Scholarship Committee.

  • Clarke and Pauline Mathews ’27 Scholarship Fund

    This endowed fund shall provide one or more scholarships of at least $1,000 to worthy and deserving students enrolled and in good academic standing at the College of Medicine.

  • The William Wortham Maxwell, M.D. Endowed Scholarship Fund

    This endowed fund shall provide one or more scholarships of at least $1,000 to worthy and deserving students enrolled and in good academic standing at the College of Medicine. This scholarship is established as a perpetual memorial to William Wortham Maxwell to help students in the study of medicine.

  • Frank W. Mayborn EFS-Endowed Chair

    Created through the partnership with The Mayborn Foundation and TAMU, this endowed fund shall be used to establish the Frank W. Mayborn Chair located in Temple, TX at the Texas A&M Health Science Center. Academic emphasis should be heart research.

  • McGovern Award Lectureship in the Art and Science of Medicine

    The income from this endowed fund in the amount of $150,000 shall provide monies for selected lecturers in the Department of Humanities.

  • Medical Humanities Endowment

    The income from this endowed fund shall be used to support research within the Department of Humanities.

  • The Tom and Jean McMullin Chair in Genetics

    This endowed fund shall be used to establish a named Chair of Genetics in the College of Medicine.

    This endowed fund shall be used to establish a named Professor of Genetics in the College of Medicine.

  • The Jean and Thomas McMullen Endowed Dean of Medicine

    This endowed fund shall be used to establish a named Deanship for the College of Medicine.

  • J.T. Lamar McNew Non-Endowed Scholarship

    This fund shall provide one or more scholarships of $2,000, with a preference given to students demonstrating an interest in pursuing a career in family medicine.

  • Medical School Endowed Scholarship

    This fund shall provide one or more scholarships of at least $1,000, with a preference given to students demonstrating a desire to practice in a rural area.

  • Charles Morrow Endowment in Milofibrosis

    The income from this endowed fund in the amount of $18,000 shall be used to support the study of the cause of milofibrosis.

  • Mr. & Mrs. Donald H. Neiderer, ’53 Endowed Medical and Veterinary Medicine Scholarship

    This fund shall provide one or more scholarships of at least $1,000 to support pre-med students and vet-med students.

  • H.D. Pope Family Medicine Endowment

    The income from this endowed fund in the amount of $225,000 shall be used to support students, residents and faculty of the Department of Family Medicine as determined by the Family Medicine Residency Program Director and the Regional Chair of the Department of Family Medicine in consultation with the Dean.

    This endowed fund shall annually award one or more scholarships of at least $500 to worthy and deserving students enrolled at the College of Medicine.

  • Presidential Endowed Scholarship

    This endowed fund shall annually award one or more scholarships to medical students who exhibit, uphold and maintain the highest academic and ethical standards. The recipient shall receive the award for the length of the degree program or no more than 8 semesters as long as the recipient maintains expected standards.

  • Sue and Joe H. Reynolds Endowed Scholarship

    This endowed fund shall annually award one or more scholarships of at least $1,000 to worthy and deserving students enrolled at the College of Medicine. Recipient must be a citizen of the State of Texas.

  • William R. Roman, Jr. ’50 M.D. Endowed Scholarship

    This endowed fund shall annually award one or more scholarships of at least $1,000 to worthy and deserving students enrolled at the College of Medicine. Preference will be given to students demonstrating academic merit and financial need.

  • Todd and Stephanie Routh Presidential Endowed Scholarship

    This endowed fund shall annually award one scholarship of $2,000 to a medical student who exhibits, upholds and maintains the highest academic and ethical standards. The recipient shall receive the award for the length of the degree program or no more than 8 semesters as long as the recipient maintains expected standards.

  • Ted ’41 and Dee Saba Endowed Scholarship

    This endowed fund shall annually award one or more scholarships of at least $500 to worthy and deserving students enrolled at the College of Medicine.

  • Sir Sam Sanders Medical Scholarship

    This endowed fund shall annually award one or more scholarships of at least $1,000 to worthy and deserving premed students.

  • Joseph H. Shelton Professorship in Medicine

    This endowed fund shall be used to establish a named Professor of Pharmacology in the College of Medicine.

  • Jo and Robert Sims Memorial International Student Scholarship

    This scholarships was created by the daughter of Jo and Robert Sims. During their lifetimes, the Sims’ hosted more than 25 international students, most of whom had become physicians. This is a non-endowed scholarship and accepts donations in memory of Jo and Robert Sims.

  • John Mark Stallings Endowed Scholarship Given by the Texas A&M Class of 1957

    This endowed fund shall annually award one or more scholarships of at least $1,000 to worthy and deserving medical students.

  • Texas Aggie Medical Scholarship

    The income from this endowed fund shall be used to support academically qualified, fiscally needy students beginning their 3rd or 4th year of medical school. Preference will be given to service-motivated students.

  • Texas Brain and Spine Graduate Student Fellowship in Neuroscience

    In the original amount of $30,000, this fund shall be used to attract and retain the best students into the neuroscience program and foster the educational mission of the Texas Brain and Spine Institute. The fellowship will be a one-year graduate student stipend offered to highly-qualified, advanced graduate students in the 3rd and 4th year of graduate training.

  • Raul Tijerina, Jr. Foundation Scholarship

    This scholarship goes to a student from the Rio Grande Valley. This is the first full-ride scholarship the College of Medicine has given out.

  • Texas Brain and Spine Institute Research Enhancement Seed Grant

    In the original amount of $30,000 this fund shall be used to promote research and scholarship in neuroscience and facilitate collaboration between clinical and basic science members of the Texas Brain and Spine Institute.

  • Charlotte M. Tompkins Memorial Student Aid Endowed Fund

    The income from this fund shall be used to provide scholarships for deserving female students. This fund is permanently invested with the earnings used as follows: each year two students, preferably women planning to go on a mission field, will be selected, each receiving half of the earning on a monthly basis.

  • William A. Triche and Homer A. Triche Scholarship for Academic Excellence

    This endowed fund shall award three scholarships of at least $3,275 each to students who have demonstrated academic excellence and scholarship.

  • William A. Triche and Homer A. Triche Scholarship for Leadership

    This endowed fund shall award one scholarship of at least $6,550 to a student who has demonstrated exceptional leadership skills and abilities.

  • Sarah Elizabeth Truitt Chase Dysautonomia Research Fund

    Donated by the husband of Sarah Elizabeth Truitt Chase, this fund shall provide funds for educational opportunities about dysautonomias, specifically POTS (postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome). This fund is intended to increase awareness of the disease, study symptoms and learn about best possible treatments. The fund will be administered by the NExT Department but graduates, post-docs and faculty across the COM can apply for the funds. Acceptable uses include, but are not limited to, hosting or attending meetings, conferences, and seminars in which dysautonomias, and specifically POTS, will be discussed.

  • University Federal Credit Union Scholarship

    Donated by the University Federal Credit Union for AY 2012-13, this fund shall award three medical students at $2,500 each who 1) are entering their third or fourth year of medical school at the Round Rock campus, 2) have demonstrated a high level of community service or leadership qualities, and 3) rank at the top of their class based on grades for their first two years of medical school. Preference will be given to students who demonstrate financial need.

  • Vaughn Construction Community Foundation Scholarship

    Donated by the Vaughn Construction Community Foundation for AY 2012-13, this fund shall award two medical students $2,500 each who have demonstrated an interest in practicing primary care in rural underserved Texas communities. Preference will be given to students who have 1) graduated from a rural Texas high school, 2) graduated from a Texas college or university and 3) demonstrated financial need.

  • John William Warren III Brain Tumor Research Fund

    The income from this endowed fund in the amount of $21,000 shall be directed toward brain tumor investigation including related causes and possible treatments and cures.

  • Sue M. Washburn Coronary/Pulmonary Research

    The income from this endowed fund in the amount of $44,000 shall be directed toward coronary/pulmonary research.

  • Welch Foundation–E.L. Wehner Chair in Chemistry

    This endowed fund shall be used to establish the Wehner-Welch Chair in Chemistry at the Texas A&M Health Science Center.

  • Ben White Endowed Scholarship Fund

    This endowed fund shall annually award one or more scholarships to worthy and deserving students enrolled at the College of Medicine.

  • Edward and Mary Wilson Endowed Scholarship

    This endowed fund, given by the Health Science Center president, Dr. Nancy Dickey, shall annually award one scholarship of at least $1,000 to a worthy and deserving student enrolled at the College of Medicine. Preference will be given to medical students who have demonstrated an interest in primary care in rural, underserved communities and are first generation physicians.

  • Charlene & Younger ’37 Endowed Scholarship in Medicine

    This endowed fund shall annually award one or more scholarships of at least $1,000 to worthy and deserving students in good academic standing enrolled at the College of Medicine.

  • William Dennis Bush Public Service Education Fund

    This fund provides stipends in varying amounts to medical students who demonstrate a strong commitment to public service during their medical training. Service activities such as school-related mission work, international electives, public health electives, research electives and scholarly activities may be applicable; however, applications must clearly state how the prospective activity will satisfy the public service component.
