Admissions Timeline
Filing of Application
- Earliest Date: December 1st (year preceding expected college enrollment)
- Deadline Date: Must be post-marked no later than February 17, 2012 and received by February 24, 2012.
Letters of Recommendation
- Evaluation Form and Letters of Recommendations: Must be post-marked no later than February 17, 2012 and received by February 24, 2012. Letters mu be submitted with the Evaluation Form. If necessary, please make additional copies of the form.
Familiarity withyou as a student and person (how known, how long, and how well known)
- Two individual letters of recommendation from college professors are required, one prefereabley a science professor.
- Additional letters may be submitted by high school counselors, advisors, administrators, and/or employers but not in lieu of letters from professors.
- It is important that the evaluators know you well enough to evaluate you both academically and personally.
- Letters should focus on the following:
Special strengths and weaknesses, any inconsistent aspects of academic record, ability to do independent work, extracurricular activities including employment, any unusual life circumstances
or compelling factors, and overall suitability for medicine as a career.
- All letters of evaluation must be written on official school or business letterhead adn mailed in an official school or business envelope. Each letter much contain the evaluator's name, title, address
phone number and signature. Letters must be mailed by the evaluators directly to the Office of Admissions.
- All letters of evaluation must include your social secruity number.
- A letter of evaluation is considered confidential unless you have arranged with the evaulator to retain the right of access to the letter of evaluation.
Transcripts
- Official High School and College Transcripts: Must be post-marked no later than February 17, 2012 and received by February 24, 2012.
- Official transcript of academic work in high school and college must be sent directly to the College of Medicine's Office of Admissions from your High School and College. The document must be certified with the official seal of the school and/or the signature of the school's Registrar.
- Please be sure that the transcipt is legible and send to the following address:

Personal Interviews
- Late March (year of expected college enrollment)
- Applicants are invited for personal interviews based upon their competitiveness in the screening process
- Interview sessions are conducted on a Thursday in late March or early April
- An interview by the College of Medicine's Admissions Committee is required for selection, and the process of admitting applicants to the program is selective
Tender of Acceptance
- May (high school students - year of expected college enrollment)
- May (notification of acceptances will be made to college students by May during the spring term of the freshman year)
- Enrollment is limited to a total of 15 students per year
