Basic Sciences Departments

Skip breadcrumb navigation

The College of Medicine has four basic science departments and a department of humanities, each with major responsibilities for teaching and research.

Approximately 100 faculty provide fundamental instruction for both professional and graduate students and for postdoctoral fellows. Their commitment to the personalized education experience of our students is reflected in the high ratings awarded by the students and their dedication to student learning and success. In addition, faculty in each department engage in extramurally-funded research in a continuing quest to understand human form and function in both normal and disease states.
