Molecular Pathogenesis Faculty Position
The Department of Microbial and Molecular Pathogenesis (http://medicine.tamhsc.edu/basic-sciences/mmp) is now recruiting tenure track faculty at the Assistant, Associate and Full Professor levels as part of new campus expansion for the Texas A&M Health Science Center in Bryan/College Station. Investigators working with viral, bacterial, fungal and parasite models are encouraged to apply. We are especially interested in investigators whose research complements existing strengths in host-pathogen interactions, immune responses to pathogens, and immune-based disorders. Successful candidates will join an interactive faculty housed at a major research university with state-of-the-art core facilities including live animal imaging, flow cytometry, BSL-2,-3 labs and excellent AAALAC-accredited conventional, gnotobiotic, and ABSL-2, -3 animal facilities. Appointments are 12 months with an attractive salary, competitive start-up package and laboratory space. Physician-scientists and applicants with research programs that are translational are encouraged to apply. Successful applicants will be expected to establish/maintain an independent, externally funded research program, and to teach professional and graduate students. Numerous opportunities exist for collaborations in basic and clinical sciences as well as interdisciplinary programs with the College of Veterinary Medicine and other components of Texas A&M University and the Health Science Center campuses, including the Institute of Biosciences and Technology in Houston.
Applications should contain a cover letter, curriculum vitae, and a statement of research interests and goals. Applicants should also arrange to have three letters of recommendation sent on their behalf. All materials can be submitted electronically to the Search Committee Chair via e-mail to MMPAFacultySearch@tamhsc.edu or by regular mail to:
