Mini-Medical School
The 2008 Mini-Medical School is over -- thank you for another great year! Please check back in the fall 2008 semester for information and a schedule for the 2009 Mini-Medical School.
About Mini-Medical School
Ever wanted to go to medical school but couldn't stomach the thought of a gross anatomy lab? Now you can, without the fear of exams, student loans or cadavers. The College of Medicine is offering the 4th annual Mini-Medical School during the 2008 spring semester for members of the local community who are interested in medicine and science.
The purpose of the 2008 Mini-Medical School, planned for six consecutive Thursday evenings in January and February, is to offer current health-related information to members of the community in a relaxed, educational atmosphere. Presented by several talented members of our faculty, the program also serves to familiarize attendees with medical terminology, enhance scientific knowledge and give new insights into medical research. Our goal is for all Mini-Medical School "students" to come away from the program with a better understanding of health, science, medicine and research.
Each session lasts approximately an hour and a half, and includes presentations by faculty experts on a specific topic, followed by a question and answer period. "Students" who attend a majority of the sessions receive an official 2008 Mini-Medical School diploma at the conclusion of the final program.
